2012 Christmas Basket Final Second Highest Ever


After a few final donations made their way in, the Salvation Army now has a grand total from the 2012 Christmas Basket program. Long-time show host of the now multi-media program, Ken Linblad says the total is 53-thousand-814 dollars..


The 2012 total fell 521 dollars short of matching the all-time record of contributions to the program of 54-thousand 335 dollars reached in 2011. As Linblad mentioned, the Salvation Army saw a substantial increase in those seeking assistance this year…


Linblad says the distribution of the Food Baskets before Christmas was the smoothest he’s seen in over 30 years of being a part…


The Huron Fire Department also collected money for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season. Firefighters posted at high traffic intersections in Huron used fireman’s boots to collect six-thousand twelve dollars, an all time high for the Fire Department’s participation
