Gant Says He Did What He Could To Get Both Sides To Ballot Issues

Secretary of State Jason Gant maintains that he followed procedure when seeking proponent and opponent opinions on several ballot measures.            He explained the process to a gathering of Mitchell Technical Institute students in Mitchell Tuesday.  Gant says he put out requests in July for proponent and opponent statements using a variety of methods….

He says every submission in the ballot question pamphlet was submitted in written form…

Gant received no opponent statements for proposed constitutional amendments M,N,O and P.  State Senator Stan Adelstein of Rapid City contends Gant did not do an adequate job of reaching out to get opponent statements.
