Computer Scammers At It Again

Overseas computer hackers are back at it with a two-year old scam, and this time they’re targeting computer users in South Dakota.  Kevin Harrington, who is with Identifex Watertown, a computer server, networking and programming firm, says one tactic they’re using is to scare the victim by warning them their computer is either infected with a virus or being hacked into…

Harrington has received several reports in the last few days where users have told them scare tactics were being used against them.  He said these are dangerous scams because once the virus is loaded on the victim’s computer, the computer is completely at the mercy of the attacker.
