The Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider approval of the final payment for demolition of the old water treatment plant and will consider a bid for road oil for chip sealing projects from Beadle County. The Commission will consider authorizing the Mayor to sign a Hazard Mitigation Program grant application and resolution for a generator for the police department, and will consider a plat filed by Bryan and Marinda Eden for a parcel of land in the Joint Jurisdictional area. Commissioners will consider authorizing Mayor Paul Aylward to sign a second grant application. That application is for an engineering study relating to the Third Street Dam improvement project. The Commission will pick up a discussion on the maintenance of 27th Street Northwest, which was before the Commission a few weeks ago. Commissioners will consider accepting the retirement resignation from Code Enforcement Officer Jack Neitzert and will hold a work session discussing both the Code Enforcement and Building Inspector positions. There are no scheduled executive sessions for the Huron City Commission, who meet tonight at 5:30 PM. The meeting is open to the public.
